As part of the wider BIWIB programme, the Black History Month Celebration serves as a key cultural and educational sub-project dedicated to recognising and celebrating the heritage, achievements, and contributions of Black and interracial women. The event brings together community leaders, academics, professionals, creatives, young people, and local residents to celebrate culture, identity, and history through the arts. Activities include inspirational talks, poetry, music, dance, theatre performances, storytelling, and community dialogue.A highlight of the celebration was the acclaimed stage play "10 Decades", which explored the experiences, resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black people across generations. Through powerful storytelling and artistic expression, the event promoted greater cultural understanding, representation, intergenerational learning, and community engagement.
