Christopher Nnodim Iheuwa
Christopher Iheuwa is a multi-talented multidisciplinary theatre and film practitioner whose career spans over 35 years in acting, producing, playwriting, and directing. He has built a body of work that moves confidently between stage and screen, marked by a commitment to telling stories that are culturally rich, emotionally honest, and widely resonant. As a Theatre and Film Director, he has played a significant role in bringing African and diaspora creativity to audiences across the region.
As an author and playwright, Christopher has seen his published books brought vividly to life on stage, including Second Thoughts and Palm Tree in London; both projects have been staged widely in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the USA.
These productions show his gift for translating the written word into live performance and for exploring themes of identity, belonging, and human connection with insight and heart. His ability to shape a story on the page and then direct it to the stage sets him apart as a complete storyteller. His achievements have been recognised nationally through the Arts Council England Global Talent Visa, an honour reserved for individuals of exceptional promise and accomplishment in the arts. In 2026, he crowned this journey by founding the Yorkshire Film Festival and serving as its Festival Director, delivering a successful inaugural event that gives filmmakers a new platform in the region. Through his creativity, leadership, and vision, Christopher continues to inspire audiences and fellow artists alike. He lives in Huddersfield with his family.
